Two days later, he underwent prostate surgery and thereafter Muhammadiyah Hospital doctors declared him cured so that he could go home. Doctors found out that the pains he suffered were related to a prostate problem.
On January 16, Gesang was also taken to the hospital after complaining about pains when urinating. Doctor Wiyono said Gesang would likely be moved to the intensive care unit for further medical treatment. Gesang was brought back to the hospital after refusing to eat. According to an on-duty doctor, Nanang Wiyono, the paramedics had given him an infusion and oxygen pipe. He was then brought to the hospital`s emergency room. The 92-year-old musician was picked up by an ambulance soon after his relatives called the hospital`s paramedics telling them about his health condition.
